A meeting was held between Ambassador Farid Talibov and Ms. Ayano Kunimitsu, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan

On March 31, 2026, a meeting was held between Ambassador Farid Talibov and Ms. Ayano Kunimitsu, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan. During the meeting, Ambassador F. Talibov touched upon regional security issues, spoke about the mine problem in the liberated territories, noted the beginning of a period of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and emphasized the importance of the Middle Corridor. During the meeting, detailed information was also provided about the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in Baku on May 17–22, 2026, and informed the other party about the importance, main theme, and expected high-level participation of the event. During the meeting, State Minister Ayano Kunimitsu emphasized the high level of existing cooperation between Japan and Azerbaijan and expressed their interest in further developing relations with our country. At the same time, he expressed gratitude for the support provided by the Japanese side to the evacuation of Japanese citizens from Iran through the territory of Azerbaijan.
