Ambassador Farid Talibov met with Governor of Okinawa Prefecture Danny Tamaki

On April 6, 2026, at a meeting between Ambassador Farid Talibov and Governor of Okinawa Prefecture Danny Tamaki, the parties discussed the WUF13 forum to be held in Baku, urban planning and cooperation opportunities in the field of sustainable development. The Ambassador provided information on the reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan and the importance of transport corridors in the region, and also touched upon the impact of tensions around Iran on regional security. The Governor provided information on Okinawa's unique development model and cooperation prospects. The meeting also exchanged views on regional relations. Governor D. Tamaki, touching upon the characteristics of the geopolitical space in which Okinawa is located, emphasized the importance of stability, mutual understanding and cooperation in the region.
