Productive meeting with Mr. Shigeharu Aoyama, State Minister of the Environment of Japan

On 16 March 2026, Ambassador F. Talibov met with Mr. Shigeharu Aoyama, State Minister of the Environment of Japan, to discuss WUF13. During the meeting, Ambassador Talibov briefed him on the forum, noting that it will take place in Baku on 17–22 May 2026 and will focus on sustainable urban development and safe human settlements. He also handed over the invitation letter to Mr. Aoyama, underscored the importance of Japan’s participation, and provided information on the reconstruction efforts in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories as well as the Great Return programme. Mr. Aoyama noted the relevance of the event, expressed interest in visiting Azerbaijan, and said that a response regarding participation would be provided in due course. The two sides also exchanged views on regional issues.
